Food Distribution Site Needed in Sunnyvale Area:
Second Harvest Food Bank's Operation Brown Bag Program provides low income seniors with a weekly bag of groceries at distribution sites throughout Santa Clara County. We are looking for a host site on Tuesday mornings from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in Sunnyvale, preferably in the 94086 zip code near the border of Mt. View. Site hosts provide the room each week during the set up and distribution time. The site is run by volunteers with support from the Food Bank. All set up, distribution, and clean up is managed by the volunteers. We need a large room with tables so that volunteers can bag and distribute food. In addition, it is helpful if the room has two doors, especially if one of them is a double door to get boxes of food through. We are providing a community service; therefore, we are looking for a host site at no charge.
Thank you so much for your consideration on this matter. If your church is available Tuesday mornings and you are interested in helping provide food to your low income neighbors, please contact Lori Mathis, Community Programs Manager at 408 266-8866 ext. 236 or lmathis@shfoodbank.com
