Celebration of Faith is an all inclusive and affirming Christian church, announcing its twelve year anniversary renewal weekend; Sept 9-10th 2006. The anniversary weekend is FREE and open to everyone, with food, special music, and lots of love.
This year’s anniversary renewal weekend speaker will be San José’s own Rev. Bran Scott. Bran was ordained in 1999 as the first “out” transsexual ordained in the United Church of Christ. In 2005, his ordination was recognized by the Pacific Coast Baptist Association, and he now holds standing in both denominations. He currently makes his spiritual home at the Congregational Church of Campbell, United Church of Christ. Rev. Scott has a particular passion for sharing the “Good News” of God’s tremendous love with all of God’s children, particularly those who have not traditionally felt welcome in Christian Fellowship. He has spoken on inclusion at several national conferences, appeared in a video on transgender inclusion for Lutherans Concerned, and his writing appears in the collection “Transgendering Faith.”
Celebration of Faith Praise and Worship Center meets every Sunday at 11:00 AM at the Billy DeFrank Center.
