The Council does a good deal of work through its action groups. Action groups, formerly known as committees, are comprised of Board Members and volunteers from local churches and the community.

Council action groups include: The Economic Justice Working Group, The Gay Ministries Committee, and SEAC or the Social Education and Action Committee.

THE ECONOMIC JUSTICE WORKING GROUP
Mission Statement: The objective of the Economic Justice Working Group is to raise awareness in the faith communities of Santa Clara County to issues of economic justice and economic disparity in our county and in our nation, to lay a theological foundation for response, and to mobilize members of faith communities into action. THE SOCIAL EDUCATION & ACTION COMMITTEE (SEAC)
Mission Statement: The Social Education & Action Committee of the Council of Churches is a volunteer group from member churches of the Council that studies and reflects on issues of social justice and peace in the light of their Christian faith. The Committee acts to bring about change by bringing these issues before the Board of the Council, member churches, and the community at large. For more information, email the Council Office.
